In the winter, you hardly see anyone wearing hot pink or coral lipstick.  With cold weather comes darker colors.  Paring dark lipstick with the correct blush and eye shadow can be tricky and has to be done correctly.  If you’ve never tried a bold lip, here’s your makeup guide to creating the perfect look.Chelsea Crockett- bold lip

Less is more!  If you’re putting a dark color on one part of your face, then it’s important to keep it simple everywhere else.  Try a light blush, nude or shimmery eye, skinny black eyeliner on the top lid, and mascara.  Stay away from dark blush and heavy eyeliner!  When prepping for your dark lip, always use a lip scrub before.  If your lips are chapped or flakey, the dark colors will really show it.  If you like to line your lips, choose a lipstick that is one shade lighter than the lip liner itself.  This way, your lips won’t look too overdone.

Last, pick out the perfect outfit and you’re ready for a night out!

Love,

Chelsea

Winter is a time when most people’s complexion tends to be lighter.  We spend less time in the sun and more time indoors, therefore the sun hardly reaches our skin.  Lipstick can be a scary thing to try when you’re feeling pale and many colors can wash you out easily.  It’s important to find the perfect winter shade for any occasion.Chelsea Crockett- dark winter lipstick

It’s officially time to put your hot pinks and corals to the side.  Winter is the time to break out deep reds and plum purples.  If you’re aiming for a bold look, try one of these colors with a smoky eye to balance out your face.  In contrast, icy colors such as a cool nude or light pink are also acceptable for a more laid back approach.  Pair this with a shimmery eye and thin eyeliner.  It’s so important to keep a good balance throughout your whole face.  You don’t want one half to be too overdone.  The most important rule when picking a winter color is to avoid warm oranges and hot pinks.  They scream summer!  Don’t get your seasons confused!

Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and rock a maroon lipstick.  It will look beautiful!

Chelsea

Do you ever get sick of your hair color?  I know I do!  Of course I’ll never do anything dramatic like dye my hair blonde, but adding a hint of color is a great way to spice up your look.  Some colors are more daring than others, but in the end a slight change in color is all you need!

If you’re sick of your blonde hair, there are two really great options to change up your blonde hair color.  If you want to go lighter, try icy blonde highlights.  The highlights will add to your natural color without making your hair look too blonde, or worse…white!  If you’re looking to go darker without going brunette, adding honey highlights will do the trick!  You could even try going strawberry blonde for a more daring look.

Brunettes have a lot of options when it comes to changing up their hair color.  Adding dark or light brown highlights is an easy transition to a different shade of brown.  If you’re looking for a more daring color, try adding dark red or plum undertones to your hair.  The change won’t be too dramatic, but the colors will really stand out in the light! Chelsea Crockett- red hair When it comes to black hair, there isn’t much that can be changed; but if you want to try something really different try adding blue undertones to your hair.  This will make your black hair appear softer, but have an edge to it.

I do not recommend dying your hair on your own.  Go to a trusted salon for any of your hair color desires and talk to your parents first!

Chelsea
