Whenever I’m hungry, I go straight to the kitchen and snack on some of my favorite fruits and vegetables. Okay okay okay, maybe they’re not my first choice. Usually my stomach is craving some sweets and dessert treats! Something I like to do during my lazy summer days is experiment with some recipes. Here is one in particular that tastes absolutely ahhh-mazing, and with summer coming up, what’s a better time to try it out for yourself?
First off, you’ll need to take a trip to the grocery store and pick up a few ingredients: a 1-pound bag of mini pretzel sticks, you’ll only use about half of the bag, 2 sticks of butter (about one cup), 1 cup of packed light brown sugar, 2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips, and sea salt (optional).
Second, preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Cover the bottom of the baking sheet with aluminum foil to avoid the pretzels sticking to it! In a saucepan, over medium heat, mix together to butter and brown sugar. When it starts bubbling, let it sit still for 3 minutes. Then pour the mixture over the pretzels laid out on the baking sheet. Bake it for only 5 minutes then remove and pour the chocolate chips all over the top of the pretzels! Let the dessert cool at room temperature for as long as you like, or as long as you can stand it! Then dig in, YUM!
