We all have a favorite eyeshadow shade. You know, that one that always seems to run out, while all the other colors in the palette are only slightly used. I got tired of having all sorts of eyeshadow palettes sitting around that were only slightly used, because all I was using was shades I knew and trusted! If you want to know how to wear the un-used, possibly obscure colors in your palettes, read on!

  1. Pink: Pink may seem like an awkward color for eyeshadow, and may give you “Barbie” vibes, but don’t let that stop you from using it! Gently dust some onto your eyelids, especially if it is a shimmery, light color! Bring the color across your lid down to the corner of the eye, and subdue it with other shadow shades like nude and champagne to tone it down.how-to-use-the-abandoned-colors-in-your-go-to-eye-shadow-palette-1656478-1455328442.640x0c
  2. Blue: This is a color that makes a stunning smoky eye, actually. Especially if it is slightly metallic! If a smoky eye isn’t your thing, use a small brush to run a thin line of shadow along your lower lash line for a pop of color.
  3. Purple: If you are unsure on how to wear that purple eyeshadow in your drawer, try the technique that I mentioned above in blue. Line your bottom lash line with the purple for a subtle color pop. You can even make a cat eye look with it!
  4. Black: Black can be an intimidating shade. Too much and you can start to look moody and dark! For a subtle look, use a fluffy powder shadow brush to dust a V shape along the outer corner of your eyes and halfway to the eye bone. This creates great definition.

Don’t let those abandoned eyeshadow colors go to waste! Get creative with them! You may find a new favorite shade in the process.

XOXO, Chels

A beautiful, bold, or subtle color is an obvious part of any wardrobe.  Whether you’re wearing a hot pink dress, black blazer, or jean shorts and a neutral tee, the colors you wear say a lot about your personality.  Next time you take a look at your outfit or closet, check out which color you own the most of!

  • Black: If you find yourself wearing a lot of black, you’re probably a strong, powerful woman.  Black is a fierce color, which is perfect for a job interview or a presentation day at school!
  • Brown:  This is a very down-to-earth color, which exerts a chill mood.  Try wearing brown for a casual day to the park or a day lying around the house.
  • Purple/Blue/Green:  Deep bold colors like royal blue, emerald green, and purple show intelligence and creativity.  Incorporating these colors in an outfit show a fun side to any personality through a pop of color.
  • Yellow/Pink:  Those who wear yellow and pink have a fun side to them!  Yellow and pink are bright, bubbly colors which are perfect for anyone who is upbeat.  Try wearing these colors more during this spring season.
  • Red:  This is one of the most ambitious colors out there.  Red shows power and energy.  Most people who wear red are goal-oriented, courageous, Chelsea Crockett- red dressand aren’t afraid to stand out!  You can’t be shy if you’re wearing red!

Colors are so powerful and tell a lot about a person!  If you’re bored of your wardrobe, try adding color and flaunt it!

Hi Girls,

The holidays are one of my favorite times to dress up and look my best!  It’s the perfect time to throw on a new outfit, curl my hair, and go all out with my makeup.  So what type of makeup look should you go for?  I’ve got two makeup looks that will go with any holiday outfit!

My first holiday look reminds me of the cold winter weather and snow!  I love to wear deep blues, purples, and silver during the winter months.  Start by doing your foundation as you normally would.  Next, apply a light purple eye shadow to your eyelids adding a darker purple to the outer parts of your eyelids.  For added brightness, take a shimmery white or silver to your inner eye and along your bottom lashes.  This creates the illusion of brighter, sparkling eyes!  Complete your look with mascara and clear or nude lip gloss for an icy finish!Chelsea Crockett- red lipstick

The second holiday go-to makeup is a classic!  I love a red lip for the holidays!  Once again, apply your foundation as you normally would and add a hint of blush to your cheeks.  Next, go for a winged eye look for a classic twist.  Using liquid liner, start the line narrow, getting wider and wider as you go out.  Apply mascara and bold red lip stick and you’re good to go!  Have a wonderful holiday!

Hi Insiders!

Halloween is just around the corner!  It’s such a festive time of the year when you can dress up for a night and not be yourself.  Costumes can be expensive, time consuming, and some people don’t like to dress up; so what if you want to engage in the Halloween festivities, but don’t want to wear a costume?  I’ve got a few ideas for you to still get in the Halloween spirit without fully dressing up! Chelsea Crockett- ghost sweatshirt

Try hitting up a store like Forever21 or even a thrift shop and searching for a graphic tee or sweatshirt with a cute pumpkin, ghost, or black cat.  Try wearing an over-sized sweatshirt with leggings and boots or a graphic tee with your favorite pair of jeans! Style it like you normally would and you’re good to go!  Another simple Halloween statement piece you could wear is a spooky pair of leggings.  Find a crazy pair with skeleton bones or tiger stripes on them.  Throw on a solid colored tee and you’ve got yourself a subtle, yet stylish costume!

Another festive way to get ready for Halloween is with Halloween colors!  If you don’t want to wear something affiliated with Halloween try wearing orange, black or purple.  This way, you’ll be sporting the holiday colors without having to dress up!  Halloween isn’t all about dressing up, but it is part of the fun.  Don’t forget these simple tips for being festive without actually wearing a costume!

Happy Halloween!
