The other day I saw a really inspiring quote. It said “There isn’t enough room in your mind for both worry and Faith. You must decide which one will live there.”

I love this quote because it tells it to you straight: if you are worried, you need to trust in God and give your worries to Him, because that is how you show your faith. Your mind doesn’t have the energy to hold on to worry but to also trust God with your problems. They contradict each other! You must decide turn-your-worries-into-faithwhich you value more. You must decide which you want to hold on to. For me, I had to decide whether I was going to worry about my life and my future, or whether I was going to put my faith and trust in my Savoir. Ever since I made that decision, I have felt so much peace about my situation. I know that God is in control, and that I need to continue to turn my worries into faith.

Just a little faith talk to inspire you today.

5 Steps to Loving Yourself

We’re all at that crucial age of figuring out who we want to be, despite the pressure coming from friends, society, and many other factors that try to shape us into who they want us to be instead.  With all of the standards and expectations put on girls throughout social media, magazines, movies, etc., they make it hard to love the skin we’re in… But that’s exactly what we need to learn to do!  Here are 5 steps that will make you start loving yourself fully and wholeheartedly! Chelsea Crockett - Love Yourself Quote

  1. Avoid perfection.  Putting impossible standards on yourself will never make you happy!  You’ll be let down every time.  Don’t expect to be someone you can’t and shouldn’t be!
  2. Stay off of social media.  I don’t mean to delete all of your accounts and shut yourself out of them forever.  What I mean by this is to not log on just to compare yourself to every girl you see.  If you find yourself doing this, just log off and find something fun and positive to do.
  3. Look in the mirror and point out three things you love about yourself every day.  Positive reassurance is totally underrated.  It really works!  Give yourself three compliments each morning to continue finding things you love about yourself.
  4. Get the right mentality.  Having a negative attitude never helps in any situation.  Work on being happy and positive when it comes to your body.
  5. Acknowledge your achievements and treat yourself.  Sometimes we get down on ourselves for thinking that we’ve failed and just want to give up.  Acknowledge your success and focus on that!  Treat yourself so you feel rewarded and optimistic!

Hopefully you can soak in these tips and learn to appreciate yourself for who you are!

Why You Shouldn’t Be Afraid of Failure

Failure can be a terrifying thing. You may think you have everything figured out until life takes an unexpected turn. You may be confused and not understand why you can’t succeed. There is much to know about failure including all of the wonderful blessings hidden throughout it. If you’re trying to get through a time of disappointment or failure, then this article is for you!Chelsea Crockett - Failure Quote

In 2 Corinthians 4:2, it says “We are persecuted, but God does not leave us. We are hurt sometimes, but we are not destroyed.” Even back in biblical times, God’s people felt pain, rejection, and of course, failure. Proverbs 24:16 says, “The righteous may fall seven times but still get up, but the wicked will stumble into trouble.” Like the picture above, God wants us to persevere, especially through times where we don’t believe we can.

I know you all have heard me talk about the verse Jeremiah 29:11 a numerous amount of times… But if you don’t know it, it says, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” I’ve always loved this verse because it constantly reminds me that I shouldn’t be afraid of failure or a little fork in the road. At the end of the day, God will provide a better plan than we could ever put together ourselves. Trust in God and know that we will be successful if we simply follow Him!

You’ve heard all the cheesy but true “new year, new you” quotes, but starting a new school year doesn’t always mean a new person. Maybe for you it’s simply a fresh start for grades, for friends, etc. There are three quotes that I think describe the start of a new school year perfectly, so here’s a little motivation :).Chelsea Crockett - Success Quote

    1. Alright… Is an article about quotes really an article without Dr. Seuss at least once? I really love this quote: “You’re off to great places. Today is your day. Your mountain is waiting. So get on your way!” For me, I’m starting my senior year. So knowing I’m onto bigger and better things gives me a little motivation every morning!
  • “You will never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine.” Obviously, we all have to go to school, but doing it with a better and more positive mindset is the key to success. The first thing you should do when you wake up is choose to have a positive outlook on the day. It really makes a difference!
  • Taylor Swift is the queen of quotes. She says: “This is a new year. A new beginning. And things will change.” Whatever grade you may be, you have to be ready for change. Especially for me, senior year will come with a lot of adapting, knowing I’ll be doing a lot of things for the last time. Be open for change!

Have an amazing school year filled with success and memories :).

Do you ever see quotes about makeup, fashion, beauty etc. on Twitter or Tumblr that you can totally relate to? I see them all the time and it is so encouraging to know that other girls are having the same struggles as me! I have a select few beauty quotes that I can totally relate to, so I decided to list them for you guys! Odds are, a lot of us can relate to the same beauty blunders. 😉c5b3bc6056fa52423b392e8652b13894

  1. “Never ask a woman with winged eyeliner why she is late.” Gosh, so darn true. Winged liner takes a steady hand and a patience, am I right?
  2. “A woman is only helpless while her nail polish is drying.” This is definitely something I can relate to. I cannot normally function for at LEAST 20 minutes after I paint my nails! I wouldn’t want all that hard work to get smudged off!
  3. “Put on some red lipstick and live a little.” Red lipstick = instant confidence boost.
  4. “May the wings of your eyeliner always be even.” Again with the winged liner, but that is just because it is so relevant!!
  5. “I have an irrational fear of wasting a perfect smokey eye on an insignificant day.” Wearing somokey-eyed makeup is an investment. It takes a lot to get the fade from dark to light eye shadow just right, and then you have to be careful not to rub your eyes and smear it!

Can you relate to any of these? Comment below and let me know which one is SO “you”!

As I’m getting older, I’m learning that the words we speak are very powerful. You can build someone up or tear someone down very quickly.  Some words are blessings and make me feel proud while other words can bring on hurt and pain.  Two quotes that I recently read were: “Don’t speak unless you can improve the silence.” A Spanish Proverb and “If you wouldn’t write it and sign it, don’t say it.” By Earl Wilson (I think that goes for texting too!)
Both of these sayings are very powerful.  I think it goes back to my mom always saying, “If you can’t say something nice, then don’t say anything at all!”  I am spending a little timChelsea Crockett - words quotee reflecting on these thoughts which I think we can all learn a little from.  Everyone is searching for signs of encouragement.  I want to be the friend that encourages and builds others up.  Who doesn’t like a friend to rely on when you need a little encouragement?  Find a friend or even an acquaintance that could use some kind words and put some positivity in their lives!  You don’t realize how much of a difference it can make!  Last but not least, I’d like to share one other thought: “Nothing else can quite substitute for a few well-chosen, well-timed, sincere words of praise. They’re absolutely free–and worth a fortune.” By Sam Walton
