I never feel like I have enough time. There are so many things to fit in a day! Because of my hectic schedule, hair appointments are the last thing on my mind. But, they have to happen at some point! Here are ways to make the most for your hair appointments and to help get you in and out of there!452735bcc9ac66847cbacfef9f54b1f6

  1. Know what you want: Give the hair stylist something to work with, like a photo of the cut or color that you are wanting. This helps the stylist know the direction you want to go and saves time because you aren’t trying to verbally explain it to them.
  2. Plan ahead: Know approximately how much time you think you will need for the appointment so you and the stylist don’t feel rushed. Plan it into your day just like you would anything else. Block out time for it.
  3. Don’t go in with wet hair: Your stylist is going to want to look at your hair dry to see how it normally looks, and they are going to want to feel it to see if there is a lot of damage they will need to trim off. If you come with a wet head, they will have to blow dry it before you start the appointment, which takes time. Save time, go dry!

Next time you need to make a trip to the salon, try these time-saving tips to make the most of it!

Makeup Tips for When You Are Crunched for Time

I hate feeling rushed. Whether I sleep in late and have to rush to get out the door or have a busy day and have to rush around in order to get everything done that I need to, I just really dislike being rushed. That goes for the “getting ready” process as well. When I don’t have time to get ready in the morning it makes me feel unprepared for my day and I feel “off” the rest of the day. This also goes for when I don’t have time to get ready for an event or outing because I got tied up doing something else. Here are 5 tips on how to get ready quickly when you are crunched for time.

  1. Use lipstick on everything: Meaning you can use it on places other than your lips such as your cheeks and eyelids. If you are running late or are in a bind, use a dab of lipstick on your cheeks and eyelids to add a pop of color.
  2. Forget foundation: When you are running late you have zero time to spend applying foundation. So, just dab concealer on your problem areas and then powder your T-zone.c8d0bdce6c9dbbf9c0e970f4515f47a7c6cf3ce22f933cb6a32eb4b7c4aeb79f
  3. Smudge your eyeliner: Take a Q-tip to smudge your eyeliner to accent your eyes in a pinch. Apply a dash of eyeliner and then smudge it.
  4. Use your fingers: You can use your fingers to apply almost any beauty product to your face. This saves time because instead of reaching for brushes (or forgetting to bring them with you if you are doing your makeup on the road), you can just swipe with your fingers.
  5. Go with a bold lip: When all else fails and you are completely out of time, a bold lip is just what you need. A red bold lip can make you look way more put together than you think! Plus it makes you FEEL more put together. 😉

So, next time you are running late but need to look like you’ve got it together, just use these simple makeup hacks to save the day!

If your weekdays are anything like mine (super busy), then you hardly have any free time until the weekend. I like to set aside a little time on Saturday or Sunday for a little “me” beauty time. This is a time to do all of the things I didn’t have time for during the week, like deep conditioning my hair, and is a good time to do your beauty prep for the week! Here are a few weekend beauty tasks to get done over the weekend to prepare you for the week.

  1. Exfoliate using a sugar or salt scrub: Itchy dry skin is no bueno, and during the week all I have time for is a quick lotion rub-down after I shower. Over the weekend, use a sugar or salt scrub on your whole body to remove the dead skin and moisturize it for the week ahead.
  2. Deep condition: Who has time to let deep conditioner sit in their hair for 15 minutes during the week? That 15 minutes is a valuable commodity! Instead of spending precious homework/study/work time deep conditioning on a weekday, do it on Saturday or Sunday when you have the time to spare. It will rejuvenate your hair from the week before, and prepare it for the coming week.2277910
  3. Paint your nails: The only time I have to paint my nails on a weekday is at night, and no one likes going to bed with wet nails and then waking up to find they are smudged and sad. Paint your nails over the weekend, and even use a gel polish to make them last longer (Sally Hanson has a brand that doesn’t require a black light for it to set!). Your nails will look like they are fresh from the salon on Monday morning! Plus, I always feel a bit more “put together” when my nails are painted.

We are all busy gals, so don’t feel bad when you can’t fit in all of the beauty maintenance you want during the week, none of us can! But, one thing we can do is prepare ourselves for the week ahead by spending a little “me time” over the weekend. Who doesn’t love a little “me time”?

Lets face it. We all want to look beautiful every day (especially right when we wake up), but sometimes it is hard to find the time. I am always looking for ways to save time on my beauty routine so I can get an extra few minutes of shut eye in the morning. 😉 Here are tips that have helped me out over the years!

  1. Mix a little highlighter with your foundation: By doing this your skin will look fresh and glowing. Such a simple fix to tired download (4)looking skin!
  2. Shave with baby oil: Instead of reaching for shaving cream when you are shaving, grab some baby oil! It keeps your legs smoother for longer, and it helps your razor last longer, aka saving you time in the long run.
  3. Double time: Kill two birds with one stone by lining your eyes and curling your eyelashes at the same time. Just put eyeliner on the curler and boom bam.
  4. Tame your frizzies: Spray a little hairspray on a toothbrush, then use the brush to calm your flyaway hairs. Your hair will look neater and like you spent tons of time on your hair when you really did it in a jiff.

Hopefully these tips save you some time!
