Spa days are the best days, especially when you and your friends can get together and relax for a few hours!  There are so many different DIY recipes that help you create your own spa day, filled with face masks, scrubs, and much more.  Here are a few fall-inspired recipes that you can make to create your own fall spa day!

If you love face masks, here’s a recipeChelsea Crockett - Face Mask Ingredients that’s all natural and perfect for an at-home facial.  For this mask, you’ll need raw honey, canned pumpkin, almond milk, and coconut oil.  Stir together a ½ cup of canned pumpkin, 2 tablespoons of raw honey, 1 teaspoon of coconut oil, and 2 tablespoons of almond milk. Apply a layer to your face and let it sit for 10-15 minutes.  It’ll leave your skin filled with moisture and nutrients!

As far as a fall-inspired facial scrub, there are so many to choose from!  But since it’s the time of year of pumpkin spice lattes, I wanted to tell you about a pumpkin latte sugar scrub that sounds amazing!  Here’s what you’ll need: 1 ½ cups of brown sugar, ½ cup of sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1 tablespoon of ground coffee, and a ½ cup of coconut oil.  Combine all of the ingredients together besides the coconut oil.  Then, add in the oil once all the other ingredients are stirred together!  You can use this scrub to exfoliate and cleanse your pores! 🙂

Are you going to try out some of these recipes?  Let me know below which one you like best! 🙂

If you’ve been up-to-date with my YouTube channel, then you’ve probably seen my video about which skincare products I’m going to take to college with me.  All of the products I featured in the video were purchased from Target, so they’re not super pricey but still good quality!  Here are some of my favorite skincare products that you can try for yourself!

  • Clean & Clear Facial Cleanser Makeup Dissolving Wipes.  Sometimes I get very lazy and don’t have the energy to go through my entire night routine. Chelsea Crockett - Clean & Clear If this is the case, I’ll use one of these wipes to remove all of my makeup, dirt, and oil of my face before I go to bed!
  • Clean & Clear Morning Burst Facial Scrub.  This stuff is my absolute favorite!  It has a citrus fragrance that is so refreshing and gives me a burst of energy to start my day.
  • Garnier Micellar Water.  If you’ve never heard of micellar water, you need to try it!  It works as a facial cleanser, makeup remover, or simply a skin hydrator.  It leaves my skin feeling so refreshed!
  • Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel-Cream.  I love this product to help get rid of puffy morning eyes.  This will definitely be helpful for early morning classes once school starts up again!
  • Aveeno Moisturizer.  Aveeno moisturizers are super hydrating and great for your skin (especially the Positively Radiant moisturizer with SPF 15!).  They have multiple different kinds to suit whatever your skin type may be!

I hope you enjoy these products and get the most bang for your buck while doing so!

Winter is the season for peppermints and pine trees and the lovely scents that come along with them. On Pinterest (I may have a slight addiction), I found multiple DIY recipes for different mint scrubs and products. Since it’s the holiday season, I thought I’d share a couple that make for a perfect present… or for your own enjoyment!

For the first recipe, Chelsea Crockett - DIY Mint Scrubyou’ll need a few key ingredients: coconut oil, sugar, peppermint oil extract, and green or red food coloring. First, microwave a ½ cup of coconut oil in a bowl for about 15-30 seconds until it’s softened. Take out your bowl and add 1 ½ cups of sugar along with a drop or two of whatever festive food coloring you choose. Add more sugar until you get the right consistency. There you have it, you’re done!

Another recipe contains the following ingredients: 1 cup of sea salt or sugar, a ½ cup of organic almond oil, a ¼ cup of organic honey, peppermint essential oil, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. To start off, mix the salt or sugar with the almond oil and honey. Add in about ten drops of peppermint oil with the vanilla extract to follow. Stir together and add more sugar to meet your desired consistency!

Which scrub is your favorite? Try them out and let me know below!

Ahhhh, coconuts… Not only do they taste great but smell even better! Recently, I’ve been hearing a lot about coconut oil and the benefits of it so I decided to put it to the test!  Coconut oil is filled with plenty of multi vitamins and nutrients. There are tons of different uses for it but I picked a couple particular ways to give it a go!

Chelsea Crockett - Coconut Oil ScrubThe first use is a healthy hair mask.  This is a life saver! First, you start with dry hair.  Take about 1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil and rub it between your hands.  Start with the ends of your hair and begin massaging in the oil.  Cover your strands with the oil from top to bottom.  Use a large tooth comb and comb the oil through your locks.  Next, wrap your head in a warm towel and seal it with a shower cap.  Leave this treatment on for about 30-45 minutes.  (I have a friend that even sleeps with it on her head overnight!). Shampoo twice to make sure all of the oil is removed.  Voila!  Your hair will feel soft, shiny, and renewed.

The other use is a coconut oil lemon scrub.  You mix 1 cup of sugar, 1/2 cup of coconut oil, and 1 teaspoon of lemon zest.  This will make enough of the scrub to last for quite some time.  Be sure to place it in a glass airtight container.  Use the scrub at night before bed and then apply your evening moisturizer.  It really helps to exfoliate and give your skin a glow.  The oil helps to add nutrients to your delicate facial skin without harshly drying it out.  The wonders of coconut oil seem to be endless.  Let me know below how you use it!

Wash Your Face…The RIGHT Way

Hi Insiders,

So you wash your face twice a day right?  Your skin looks and feels clean, but you get the occasional acne.  Unfortunately, most teens are not washing their face the right way leaving behind tons of dirt and oil.  Follow a few of my simple tips to have your cleanest and brightest skin yet.Chelsea Crockett- makeup cloths

  • It’s easy to rush through a face wash, especially when you’re in a rush or just want to go to bed.  Although it may be hard, take your time!!  Spend a few minutes really rubbing in the cleaner to your skin.  You have a days’ worth of dirt and oil on your skin, so spend more than a few seconds!
  • While washing your face, use lukewarm water.  Too hot of water can cause dry skin.
  • Don’t overuse makeup wipes!  These wipes are meant for short time use, like quickly reapplying makeup or wiping off the sweat from the gym.  Be sure to follow up with water and soap.  Makeup wipes can’t remove everything by themselves.
  • Moisturize!  It’s so important to moisturize to avoid dry skin.  Moisturizing at night is the most important, since your skin has a lot of time to soak in all of the nutrients.
  • Be gentle!  A lot of people think the best way to clean your face is with a harsh scrub or pressure with a wash cloth.  These things can irritate the skin and cause redness.  Only use these methods a couple times a week.

Love your skin and treat it properly!

Who doesn’t love soft lips?  I know I do!  Soft, smooth lips make wearing lipstick look better and give your face an all-around better look.  I mean, cracked lips aren’t exactly attractive?!  Many lip balms and other lip products moisturize your lips for a short period of time, but do not remove the dead skin.  This dead skin is what gives your look that cracked appearance…gross.  I will show you how to make a once a week DIY lips scrub with 3 simple ingredients.  It’s SO simple!

Chelsea Crockett- DIY Lip Scrub LipsAll you need for the lip scrub is sugar, 1 tsp. of honey, and ½ tsp. of olive oil.  Mix the olive oil and honey together in a small bowl and then add as much sugar as you please.  Go for a good consistency.  You don’t want to cover up the honey and olive oil with too much sugar.  I like to use about 2 tbsp.  Once all the ingredients are mixed up, apply a small amount to your lips, and rub them together for about a minute.  Remove the mixture with a wet paper towel and there you have it! Soft, luscious lips!

Chels

Apple Beauty Remedies!

It’s apple picking time here in the Midwest.  I love to go out with my family to the local orchards, get on a wagon, and pick some apples!  Believe it…

It’s apple picking time here in the Midwest.  I love to go out with my family to the local orchards, get on a wagon, and pick some apples!  Believe it or not, apples aren’t just for eating.  There are actually quite a few beauty remedies that apples can be used for. Since they’re in season, I’d thought it would be fun to share a few ideas with you. Chelsea Crockett - Apples

Apples are a natural beauty product.  They can work wonders on your complexion by treating acne.  One easy mask to make is an apple and honey mask.  You can make this by grating half an apple and mixing it with four teaspoons of honey.  Then, apply it to affected acne skin, leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes, and rinse off with warm water.  This should leave a natural glow and radiance to your skin!  It can also be used to prevent pimples and other imperfections!

Apples can also be used as a natural facial cleanser.  The natural acid helps to remove excess oil from the skin and leave an instant shine and glow to the face.  An apple, milk, and honey cleanser can be made by measuring one tablespoon of fresh apple juice, two tablespoons of milk, and one teaspoon of honey.  Mix these ingredients together thoroughly and apply to your face and neck.  Massage for two minutes and then rinse off with warm water.

Your skin will be soft and glowing! If you have any apple beauty remedies, please be sure to share below :)!

Enjoy, Chels

Hi Lovelies!

I’m sure you’ve all heard me talk about or use Michael Todd skincare products in my YouTube videos.  Michael Todd skincare and beauty products are top of the line made with all organics.  You won’t have to worry about breaking out or being allergic to anything you use.  I have sensitive skin myself, and these products are perfect!

Chelsea Crockett- Michael Todd Pearl and Silk Mask I recently got the Organic Pearl and Silk Mask.  It’s an extremely gentle mask that leaves your skin feeling clean and soft.  With the help of the pearl, the mask hydrates dry skin and the silk leaves dull skin looking brighter!  After applying the mask, my skin felt cool and tingly.  I could feel the mask cleaning out my pores.  After the mask had been on for 10-15 minutes, I washed the mask off with a wash cloth and my normal cleanser.  My skin was glowing and felt so soft.  It felt cleaner than ever!

Michael Todd also carries other masks including the intense Charcoal Mask for deep cleansing, the Pumpkin Mask to replenish your skin with the nutrients it needs, and the Avocado Mango Mark for extreme hydration for dry skin.

Another great product by Michael Todd is the Charcoal Scrub.  It’s a deep cleansing scrub that goes beyond the pores.  After one use, my skin felt cleaner and smoother.  I have really oily skin and noticed that each day I used it, my skin felt less oily and fresher.  I didn’t feel the need to wash my face 100 times a day.  Michael Todd products have made my everyday face washing routine simpler.  My skin has never looked better and your skin will feel the same way!
