I saw a picture of an adorable pair of Kate Spade sneakers the other day. Then I took a look at the price. Yikes!! If you have an old pair of white sneakers and a Sharpie, then you can get the look for wayyyy cheaper. Here is how I transformed my drab shoes into fab shoes!

  1. Locate a dime, a Sharpie, a pencil, and your sneakers. Use the dime and pencil to trace the polka dots onto the sneakers. I set a picture of the Kate Spade sneakers in front of me so that I could try and replicate the pattern as closely as I could.
  2. Take your Sharpie and trace the pencil circles with it. Then fill the dots in with the Sharpie. Make sure that the Sharpie is a thick Sharpie so that you can fill the dots in quicker.

So the cool thing about this craft is that when you are finished, the design that you draw onto the light bulb will be projected onto the wall when you light it up! You can look up cool designs or just think of some on your own. You can even use different colored Sharpies if you want the bulb to look funky when it is not lit! In the picture featured, you can see an example of a cool design you can try. Once you are finished with your bulb, screw it into your favorite lamp, take the lamp shade off, turn out your lights, and enjoy the pattern that the bulb projects all around your room!

Try it out and comment below if you love it!

Flip flops can be surprisingly expensive sometimes, especially if they have a pattern or design.  They are the perfect summer shoe and can be thrown on with any outfit for an effortless look.  Creating your own flip flop masterpiece is a fun activity for the summer!  I will give you the step by step process for designing your own flip flops right at home.  It’s super simple!  Let’s go!Chelsea Crockett- diy flip flopsChelsea Crockett- diy flip flops

All you need is a pair of plain colored flip flops (I recommend light colors), painters tape, and different colored sharpie markers.  Let your imagination run wild with the colors and pattern you would like your flip flops to be.  Right now, I really love the chevron print.  Place your flips flops in front of you and start taping your design.  For the chevron print, break apart small pieces of tape and make a zigzag pattern.  Make sure to space everything out evenly.  Once the design is created, start coloring in between the tape with your favorite colored markers.  Have fun with this part!  Let the color dry for about 10 minutes and then tear off the tape.  Now you’ve got your own pair of flip flops you designed yourself!

Have fun,
