White shoes look awesome the first week you have them, then it is downhill from there. They only stay white for a short time, and then they turn a queasy shade of brown that is extremely unappealing. I have a pair of white Keds that are my everyday go-to shoes, and they get dirty so quickly! Luckily there is an easy way to get your favorite white converse or canvas shoes squeaky clean!

  1. Take the laces out” This will make it easier to clean them! You can clean the laces by by letting them soak in a bucket of warm, soapy water.8e9c5af696880cca661a7e42e7df729e
  2. Rinse them: Rinse your shoes in cold water in a sink.
  3. Make a paste: Combine baking soda and vinegar, enough to form a paste, but don’t use a metal bowl or spoon. The paste should be 2 parts baking soda and 3 parts vinegar.
  4. Scrub away: Use a clean toothbrush to scrub the paste into the surface of the shoes. Once you have scrubbed the heck out of your sneakers, rinse them under cold water.
  5. Wash: Put your shoes into the washing machine and wash them on cold. Put them in a laundry bag so they don’t bang around.
  6. Air dry: Let your shoes sit outside in the sun and dry. The sun will help bleach them! DON’T put them in the dryer, it will make them lose their shape!

I have a pair of white Keds and white Converse that are calling my name! I can’t wait to return them to their pearly white glory!

5 Reasons Heels Aren’t Worth it

High heels are totes adorbs. I will give you that much. But you know what totally stinks about them? How severely uncomfortable they are. Here are 5 reasons why high heels aren’t worth it.

1. THEY ARE (DUH) UNCOMFORTABLE:

I have met girls that say they love high heels and could walk a mile in them. To them I say: lucky ducks! For the other 90% of us, we experience pain within 1 hour of wearing heels. Why be uncomfortable?

2. THEY HAVE NO SUPPORT:

Heels often offer zero arch or ankle support which can cause tons of pains throughout your body. The fact is that your feet were not designed to wear high heels, especially not every day for long periods of time.Comic-3638610742d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e_700b

3. THEY DON’T REALLY MAKE YOU LOOK TALLER:

Sure, that extra 2 or 3 inches feels like a ton of extra height to you, but to the average joe you look pretty much the same! If you want your legs to look longer you should wear shoes that have an open top so you aren’t cutting your legs off at the ankles. Also, pointy toed shoes elongate your feet and legs, so grab a pair of flats like this!

4.  THEY MAKE IT DIFFICULT BE ACTIVE

Do you ever see photos of models in magazines wearing 4 inch heels and running down the street to catch a cab, with their hair and dress blowing in the wind? Totally not realistic. If you have ever tried to get somewhere in a hurry while wearing heels, you know that the words “hurry” and “heels” do not go together.

5. THEY ARE JUST AS CUTE AS FLATS:

Trust me when I say that a cute pair of flats is just as chic as a cute pair of heels. You can look polished and professional in both! Plus, flats tend to be a bit more affordable. 😉

Don’t force yourself to suffer through a day wearing heels when you would be just as well of wearing a cute pair of flats!

Flats one of my favorite kinds of shoes. There are so many kinds! There are loafers, ballet flats, dressy flats, casual flats, every day flats, so many options! The only downside of flats is breaking them in. You want them to fit well and feel cozy! Here is how to break in your flats so that they fit just right and don’t give you blisters.

  1. Grab your hair dryer and heat up the inside of your shoes. Count to three pointing the hair dryer at your toes and then the6a661a7a3450375772427c4de2fc0cbd heel two times.
  2. Pull on your favorite pair of thick socks. I love fuzzy socks so I chose those. Put the shoes on immediately after you heat them up and have put the socks on.
  3. Once you have done these things wear the shoes around the house for a while. You may have to repeat these steps a few times until your shoes are broken in!

If you don’t break in your flats you are in for a world of hurt! The shoes can cause nasty blisters and be downright uncomfortable.
