Fall weather is finally here which means cooler temperatures and stylish fall outfits.  Between tailgates and fun fall dinner dates, there are lots of occasions to rock all types of trendy skirts!  Right now, I’m obsessed with these two skirt styles!Chelsea Crockett - Fall Skirt

The first style is a jean skirt with frayed hems.  This style is simple but has a twist to it!  You can pair it with a cute belt, blouse, and booties to create the perfect fall look.  You can also pair it with a long cardigan or a tied sweater.  With denim, really anything goes!

The other skirt is a velvet or corduroy button up the front skirt like the picture on the right. They come in all different fall colors like maroon, green, gold, dark purple, etc. Again, these are stylish to pair with a cute top and booties and is the perfect look for a football game day! You can dress them up by adding a jacket or a scarf, too.

Which style do you like better?  Let me know in the comment section below which skirt style you like to rock during the fall!

In our society, modesty is something that’s considered “weird” or “non-fashionable.”  So many girls think it’s overrated and a forgotten way of the past.  But there are actually so many fashionable looks and outfits that you can rock all summer long!  After all, modest is hottest, right? 🙂

  • One-piece swimsuits.  If you haven’t already seen the hundreds of girls rocking one pieces on the beach or at the pool, then I’m here to tell you that they’ve made a major comeback!  Almost every brand that offers swimsuits now sells stylish one pieces that are fashionable and trendy yet comfortable and modest!
  • Midi-skirts.  I know for me, it’s hard to find a skirt that fits me just right yet isn’t super short.  Midi-skirts are the perfect exception!  Chelsea Crockett - Collared ShirtYou can dress them up or dress them down with heels, wedges, accessories, etc.  If you find the right shirt, you can create the perfect trendy look!
  • Long Overalls.  Like I’ve mentioned in plenty other articles, overalls are back!  You can buy them in the classic jean material or find them in different colors anywhere from black to light pink.  They give off a retro look that’s both modest and super trendy!
  • Collared Shirts.  Now I’m not saying you have to rock a buttoned-up polo, but loose fitting collared shirts are so in and so cute!  Pair them with jeans and wedges to create the perfect beachy look.  Take the outfit on the right for example!

Which modest trend is your favorite?  I love all of them!  Let me know which one you rock the most below!

How to Wear Long Skirts as a Short Gal

Maxi skirts are a clothing item that has been in style for a while and doesn’t have an end in sight. As spring comes in full swing and summer fast approaches, I reach for my maxi skirts. They are the perfect length to keep your legs sheltered on chilly spring mornings yet breezy enough to keep you cool during the early summer months! That being said, us short gals can have some issues when wearing long skirts, like them dragging on the ground, our feet getting caught on them BECAUSE they’re dragging on the ground, some make us look too short and wide, the list goes on. Tired of feeling this way, my petite ladies? Read on to find out how to make maxi skirts and dresses work for you!

  1. Hem it yourself: Hemming a skirt is pretty simple, and it is a cheap solution to a skirt that is too long but you love it. All you need is an iron, needle, thread, and a sewing machine if you don’t want to hem it by hand.2836c1bc55a457aaa2bacbec3ab39913
  2. Dry it: Toss it in the dryer to shrink it a bit, depending on the fabric. Be careful not to shrink it too much!
  3. Wear heels: This is the easiest solution of them all. Just wear a pair of heels with the long dress or skirt to keep it from dragging! It involves zero money spent and almost zero effort. Plus, it is super fun to pair different heels with your skirt to find the perfect match!
  4. Shop the kids section: Not only is it cheaper, it actually might fit you better!

Wearing maxi skirts and dresses IS possible, my petite pretties! Don’t let the haters tell you they’re not for you.

Spring is here! This  means that you will need an adorable ensemble to wear to church and any Easter get-togethers you may be attending! My favorite spring article of clothing is my tulle skirt. It is so fun and flowy! Here are some tips on how to style your tulle skirt this Easter.tulle 3

  1. Keep the top trimmed: You want to pair your tulle skirt with a tighter top. A loose shirt could make the outfit look frumpy, but a tight top keeps the attention on the skirt and give you a classy look.
  2. Layer with neutrals: If you are going to wear a printed top, keep the tones neutral! I also love pairing it with a jean jacket when I am keeping it casual.
  3. Accessorize casually: When you are wearing something as frilly as a tulle skirt, you want to keep your accessories casual so that they accentuate the skirt and don’t make the outfit look too flashy.
  4. Make a necklace exception: When I say keep the accessories casual, this excludes the necklace! I love spicing up my outfits with statement pieces!

I bought my tulle skirt at Kohl’s, it is from Lauren Conrad’s collection! It was super affordable, and it is also crazy classy!

Happy Easter!

XOXO, Chels

Look out tall boots! Booties are all the rage this fall and winter.  Most booties are cut right at the ankle and can be dressed up or down for any occasion.  The tricky part is knowing how to style and wear them correctly.  Read up and figure out how to style your booties this season!Chelsea Crockett- ankle booties

There are three ways to rock booties: with a dress or skirt, tucked into tight skinnies or leggings, or cuffed above the ankle with just about any straight-leg or skinny pant. Since the boots don’t go very far up your leg, it’s important to wear tight jeans with them so that they don’t begin to bunch up at the ankle.  If your jeans are loser at the bottom, cuff them so that they sit right above the beginning of the boot.  This way, you won’t have to worry about your jeans coming out of the top of your booties!

Leather, suede, flat, or heeled, booties are the perfect essential for any wardrobe! Comment below how you rock these boots!

XOXO,

Chelsea

If any of you watched this year’s Kids Choice Awards, you probably noticed the amazing fashion that was seen on the orange carpet… and yes I said orange!  The KCA’s are sponsored by Nickelodeon, so what’s better for the occasion than an orange carpet?  Here are a few fashion statements made throughout the show that you can put into action for your spring wardrobe!Chelsea Crockett - Laura Marano

One style that I spotted quite often was long and lengthy skirts.  They were seen in all different colors and patterns, a perfect way to start off your spring styles!  Debby Ryan, Laura Marano, and Coco Jones are a few examples spotted wearing this chic trend.

Chelsea Crockett - Ariana GrandeSimple solids were also hot on the carpet this year.  Lia Marie Johnson and Bella Thorne had a couple of the cutest colors that looked outstanding on them.  One of my favorites was Ariana Grande’s simple yellow-orange dress to the left.  So pretty!

The timeless trend of lace was of course seen once or twice throughout the night.  Lea Michele, Peyton List, and Audrey Whitby all had gorgeous dresses!  Don’t be afraid to put these trends to action next time you’re out shopping to complete your spring wardrobe!
