Spa days are the best days, especially when you and your friends can get together and relax for a few hours!  There are so many different DIY recipes that help you create your own spa day, filled with face masks, scrubs, and much more.  Here are a few fall-inspired recipes that you can make to create your own fall spa day!

If you love face masks, here’s a recipeChelsea Crockett - Face Mask Ingredients that’s all natural and perfect for an at-home facial.  For this mask, you’ll need raw honey, canned pumpkin, almond milk, and coconut oil.  Stir together a ½ cup of canned pumpkin, 2 tablespoons of raw honey, 1 teaspoon of coconut oil, and 2 tablespoons of almond milk. Apply a layer to your face and let it sit for 10-15 minutes.  It’ll leave your skin filled with moisture and nutrients!

As far as a fall-inspired facial scrub, there are so many to choose from!  But since it’s the time of year of pumpkin spice lattes, I wanted to tell you about a pumpkin latte sugar scrub that sounds amazing!  Here’s what you’ll need: 1 ½ cups of brown sugar, ½ cup of sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1 tablespoon of ground coffee, and a ½ cup of coconut oil.  Combine all of the ingredients together besides the coconut oil.  Then, add in the oil once all the other ingredients are stirred together!  You can use this scrub to exfoliate and cleanse your pores! 🙂

How often do you step back and give yourself some “me” time?  Don’t get me wrong, I love being with my friends and fam, but sometimes it feels good to be independent and spend some time with numero uno. Time alone is a great way to reconnect with yourself, de-stress, and feel refreshed. Here are 5 fun things you can do on your own to treat yo self!

  1. Take yourself on a date: Is there a restaurant where you live that you have always wanted to go to eat but have never gotten the chance? Take yourself! Treat yourself to a nice meal, take as long as you want, order whatever you want, you don’t have anyone to worry about or impress! Bring a good book and enjoy yourself.
  2. Take a loooong bath: Grab a good book, light a few candles, grab some bubble bath and a bath bomb, and hop in the tub. Take the longest bath you want and enjoy uninterrupted bliss.
  3. Lose yourself in a bookstore: There are so many cute bookstores out there, small ones with lots of personality or big ones with lots of choices! Get lost in the shelves and find a book that you love.
  4. Have a spa day: Go get a massage, or save some cash and do an at-home spa day. Grab a face mask and hair mask from Walmart and pamper yourself DIY style.
  5. Complete projects you’ve put off: Speaking of DIY, finish those projects you’ve been putting off so that you don’t have to worry about them anymore. Whether it is finishing homework, updating your resume, finishing a DIY craft, whatever it may be, finish it! You will feel accomplished and productive, plus you reap the benefits of the finished project!

Summer is almost here, and I plan on spending every minute I can with my friends. We are all going off to college in the fall and are going our separate ways. I started creating a “bucket list” of sorts for my friends and I for the summer that is made up of a bunch of fun, creative, sometimes crazy things I think we should do to make the most of the time we have. Here is a list of 10 things on my summer bff bucket list!

  1. Take a road trip, even if it is just a day trip
  2. Volunteer together
  3. Marathon a TV series
  4. Cook a fancy dinner together

  6. See your favorite band or musician in concert
  7. Try an extreme sport like ziplining or bungee jumping
  8. Take exercise classes together
  9. Go on a hike
  10. Be a tourist in your own city

Now go grab your bff, and get started on your bucket list! You will have so much fun at the end of the summer looking back on all of the fun memories you made.

Blackheads can be such a hassle, ya know? They can make your skin so clogged and yucky. There is a way to give yourself an in-home facial that will clear those pores right up! Here is how to give yourself a facial steam!

downloadAll you need is a large bowl and some semi-hot water. Soak a washcloth in the water, wring it out, and then press it to your face. Repeat this step a couple of times. Once you are done with this, take your face and lead it towards the bowl, hovering your face over the hot water. Then, place a towel over your head to make sure no hot air escapes. The hot air will open up your pores so you can clean them out and it takes the oil and dirt build up off of your skin! Keep your head leaned over the bowl for about 5 minutes to allow the hot water to do its thing. After that, wash it with a good exfoliating face wash and moisturize!

 

Who knew getting an at-home facial could be that easy!
