When you have a roommate, you start to notice every little detail about them.  You know their pet peeves, their cleaning habits, their unique characteristics… literally everything!  Sometimes you leave the year as best friends, other times you leave wanting nothing to do with one another.  If you’ve had a roommate, you’ll understand these 5 struggles!

  • Walking in the room and she’s wearing your clothes.  This can either be something to laugh at or one of the biggest triggers for an argument!  It actually happens so much more than you think it would.
  • Hitting the snooze button over… and over… and over again.  If you’re this roommate, then come up with some different ways to force yourself out of bed.  If it’s the other way around, this can drive you absolutely crazy!
  • Having lots of friends over when you’re trying to study.  Ugh, this is the worst!  You may want them to stay because it’s so much more fun than doing homework, right?  But when you get that test grade back, you may think differently!
  • An hour after you clean and the room’s already a disaster again.  I’m sure both of you can take a little bit of the blame on this one, but it’s usually pretty one sided!  It may help to pair yourself up with someone who’s just as organized as you are.
  • Trying to get ready at the same time.  As girls, this can be super fun or super hard.  It seems like you always need to shower at the same time, use the blow dryer at the same time, etc.  Come up with a game plan to eliminate this problem!

What other struggles did you face with your roommate?  Share with me below! 🙂

The Bible is full of many, many things.  It’s full of wisdom, encouragement, lessons, and lots of other valuable things to apply to your life.  I recently came across an article on Pinterest that had a list of “Bible emergency numbers” that apply to specific problems and struggles you might be going through.  Here are some key verses that can help!

  • For when you’re upset – John 14:1-4. Chelsea Crockett - Bible These verses focus on God’s perfect kingdom He has awaiting you.  It gives you hope and reassurance that there is so much more to life.  Don’t get upset over the little things!
  • For when you’re lonely – Psalm 23.  This chapter talks about how the Lord is your shepherd and is always with you.  It gives you comfort knowing that God is with you all the days of your life!
  • For when you’re anxious – Philippians 4:4-9.  Anxiety is a thing that everyone gets.  Whether it’s over a test or a sticky situation, give all your cares to God!
  • For when you’re depressed – Psalm 27.  This chapter is one of my favorites.  It ends with saying “wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”  There are the best days of your life ahead of you!
  • For when you’re lost – Psalm 73:23-26.  These verses talk about how God will guide you even if your flesh and heart fail you.  Seek His counsel because He has you in the palm of His hand!

I hope these help you beat your struggles one verse at a time!

Struggles of College Apps & Essays

As most of you know, it’s college application season! Although it’s exciting, it can be exhausting on top of school, YouTube, sleep, and a social life. There are certain struggles that come along with applying for colleges and I’m here to help you out with them! I know how you feel :).

Alright… let’s talk about the main complaint of college apps: the amount of time they take! Although some colleges’ and universities’ applications only take about ten minutes or so, some can take fooooorever! When I saw that a majority of the colleges I was applying to required essays, I wasn’t too excited! If you’ve come across some tricky or confusing prompts like me, you know what I’m talking about. Here’s my suggestion: get help from your English teacher! They’ll help you more than you think. They can not only give advice about how to write your essay but how to minimize the amount of time you put into them too. Perfect!

Another Chelsea Crockett - Jeremiah 29:11struggle is paying the price to apply to a college. You might be thinking, “Why do I have to pay if I might not even go there?” If money is tight and you don’t have a lot to spend on apps, write down the pros and cons of each college and narrow it down to your top three. This won’t only save you money but stress in the long run too!

Since hours spent on applications and essays isn’t enough, why not spend hours stressing about where you’ll end up for college too? My comfort for this comes from God and knowing that his plan is better mine. Just have faith and trust that everything will turn out right, wherever you end up. Just sit back and relax and let God take control!

Good luck! – Chels

“What to Wear” Struggles Resolved!

What to wear, what to wear… The thought we all have as soon as we get out of bed. Coming up with the perfect outfit can be exhausting, let alone extremely frustrating! There are too many times I don’t know what to wear to an event, whether it be a meeting in LA or simply dinner with friends. I use these nice little tips to resolve all your “what to wear” probs!

  • First off, evaluate the situation.Chelsea Crockett - What to Wear Is it a formal event? Casual? Too many times I sit in my room looking for something to wear before realizing I actually have no idea how I should even be dressing!
  • If the event you’re going to is well known, look up what people wore to the event in the past. You can easily search the event on Google images or possibly on Instagram or Twitter.
  • If you have a smartphone, make a group chat with anyone you know going to the same event you are! I do this ALL the time! This way you can brainstorm ideas by sending possible outfit pics and get your friends input.

Whatever tip you resort to, make sure your outfit shows your style and only yours! Don’t let certain opinions change the way you dress. Be yourself!

3 Sister Struggles Solved!

Being a sibling, let alone a sister, can be tough! Always bickering over who has to take out the trash or who has to clean the dishes. Although it’s great having a sister, we can often find things to fight about (which I think anyone who has a sister can understand!). There are three big struggles every pair of sisters argues over (I know this from personal experience), and I’m here to help!

  1. Sharing clothes… the great debate. Nine times out of ten, this is what my sister and I are arguing over! She steals my shirt, I forget to put hers back, she spills her drink on my new dress… the list goes on and on. To avoid this, simply ask for permission a couple hours before you get ready. Also, put a reminder on your iPhone to put back her shirt/dress around the time you’ll be getting home. And if you have the misfortune of spilling something on her new favorite skirt, offer to buy her a new one!
  2. My sister has her license now, but before that I had to drive her everywhere! I really didn’t mind but there were a few times that brought up some conflict. The best way to go about this is asking your sis a day or so before if she has plans and needs to arrange a ride. That way she’ll know early enough so if you can’t, she’ll have plenty of time to find an alternate!
  3. Lastly, chores often bring up some bickering between us! You might ask your sister to do the dishes for you one night and all kind of problems come up! The easiest way to go about this is making a schedule for the two of you. It might sound cliché but it really works!

Good luck insiders! – Chelsea

Overcome Curly Hair Struggles

Curly hair can be both a blessing and a curse. When you have a good hair day, everyone is jealous of your wavy locks. I know I am! But every once in a while, curly hair is more of a burden than a gift. It shouldn’t have to be that way! I’ve learned some great tips from some of my friends that have the same struggle.

Whether your hair is straight or curly, frizz plays a role in messing it all up! It just hits curly haired girls a little harder than should,Chelsea Crockett - Paul Mitchell Spring Loaded but there’s no need to worry. Paul Mitchell has many, many hair products that are perfect no matter what type or texture your hair is. His Spring Loaded® Frizz-Fighting Shampoo and Conditioner works to cleanse curls but maintain their frizz from the start. He has a few other frizz-fighting products that are sure to help as well!

Although this may be more for curly haired girls, avoiding constant heat on your hair is a tip almost anyone can use. Straightening your hair every so often is fine, but applying heat every day will do nothing but damage your waves. They’ll end up dried out and brittle which will increase the amount of frizz your hair is going to have.

If your curls aren’t the exact shape you want them to be, use this trick! After washing (or simply wetting) your hair, apply a serum and wrap your curls around your finger. Hold them there for about 10 seconds and release them. This’ll help form your curls without the use of heat or excess products.

Lastly, love your curls! There are so many girls that would die for even a slight wave to their hair. Don’t take it for granted!

Love, Chelsea
