Sunday is one of my favorite days of the week. It’s a day solely devoted to Jesus and relaxation, can you get any better than that?

I find myself doing the same routine every Sunday. This usually consists of church, catching up on homework and studying, and watching TV for hours on end.

I saw an article online that talked about 5 ways to transform your Sunday to be productive for Christ, instead of using it for binge-watching Netflix and napping the afternoon away! Take away some of these tips and see how your day is transformed! 🙂

  1. Spend time in prayer.

God wants our Sundays to be dedicated to him. In the Bible, the Sabbath was a sacred day devoted to Him and Him alone.

So, spend time talking to him! Oftentimes, we can get so caught up in the busyness of our week that we forget to slow down and just talk to God. Tell him your concerns, the things you’re thankful for, and your requests.

Use this day to get in good, undistracted prayer time with God!

  1. Set up your weekly devotional schedule.

My biggest excuse for not getting enough quiet time in with God is that I don’t have enough time in my day or that I’ll do it later. Having a set weekly schedule helped me remember and devote a certain time solely to God to spend with him.

It’s amazing what a set schedule can do for you! Once you have a plan, stick to it and see how it impacts your week.

  1. Go to church!

Sunday is the day to wake up and go worship the Lord with other believers! I always feel that if I begin my week with church it puts me on the right track to have a good week with God. I feel refreshed, joyful, and ready to take on whatever the week may bring!

  1. Rest!

Exodus 20:8-10 says, “Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work…”

God instructs us in the Bible to use Sunday as a day of rest. He commands us to take a day from work and our busy ways of life and relax in his presence. I almost think of it as God’s way of rewarding us for all the hard work we’ve put in during the week!

  1. Spend time in good fellowship.

Whether this be a quick brunch with friends after church or even spending some time with your parents on Sunday nights, make it a habit!

Being around people who encourage you in your walk with Christ is so important, and what’s a better day to do it than on Sunday?

Get in the routine of practicing these five habits every week. You may notice a tremendous difference in your day and maybe even week! 🙂

For me, Sunday is the day for church and getting ready for the upcoming week. Too many times my day is spent stressing about what I need to get done and what I need to have ready for Monday. Since I love making to-do lists, Sunday is the perfect day to get organized and get things accomplished!Chelsea Crockett - Sunday

  • School is a top priority. Make sure you finish all your homework and study for any upcoming tests.
  • Like I mentioned before, Sundays are days for church. If for some reason I can’t make it to church, I still like to have quiet time with God. It starts my week on the right foot, without stress or worrying.
  • Being organized is a good way to feel before the week begins, not only with school but with your room as well! Clean your room, car, or whatever will be bothering you throughout the week. It’s refreshing and a stress-reliever.
  • If you’re trying to exercise and eat healthy, plan your workouts for the week! Decide which days you’ll have time to go for a run and which days you can take a break. Also, prepare some healthy snacks such as fruit salad or granola bars that can be on-the-go for your busy week.
  • Make a list of goals you want to accomplish for the week. If you have a big test you want to ace, write it down! If you want to run a certain amount of distance, write it down! Accomplishing your goals at the end of the week is an amazing feeling.

What else do you do to prepare yourself for the week? Let me know so I can try it out myself!

Love, Chelsea
