This summer has already been filled with new trends, styles, and fashion statements.  The cool thing about fashion is that there will always be new trends coming into play along with old trends circling back around!  There are many popular swimsuit styles of the summer but here are three that are the most stylish!

  • Peplum Swimsuits. Chelsea Crockett - Peplum Swimsuits Remember when peplum tops were the hottest trend of the year?  They’re making a comeback but in swimsuits instead!  They’re the cutest tops to pair with some patterned high-waisted bottoms.  Look at the picture on the right for example.  You can mix and match swimsuits for the perfect look!
  • Wrap Swimsuits.  Wrap swimsuits can come in many different styles and colors.  If you’ve never seen these, most have strings or straps that wrap around your stomach or just below your chest.  They might not be the best if you want to avoid tan lines, but they’re super cute and stylish!
  • Off-the-Shoulder Swimsuits.  It seems like all the best shirt styles are making their way into the swimsuit world!  You can find off-the-shoulder swimsuits in both one and two pieces.  If you prefer a two piece, mix and match different colors and patterns to find the perfect look!

Which style is your favorite?  Comment and let me know below! 🙂

Summer Swim Fixes

Swimming at the pool or beach is all fun and games most of the time.  But those long days in the water can sometimes pose a problem to your hair and skin.  I found some tips that are super beneficial to recover from a day at the pool.  There are many swim fixes that can make your summer much more enjoyable and worry-free!

As teenage girls, most of us like to shave our legs, armpits, and sometimes our bikini lines.  Sometimes we end up with the much dreaded razor burns and bumps.  Chelsea Crockett - SunBum Hair SunscreenFor these, they can be relieved with a little aloe vera and lotion.  To prevent them from coming back, wait a few days before shaving over the area again.  This will stop the bumps from getting irritated and flaring up.

Sometimes day’s spent in the water can put your hair and skin in chlorine overload.  It’s known for drying out the moisture in your skin.  In order to hydrate it, rub raw coconut oil on your skin a couple times a day.  This should help restore any missing moisture that was taken!  As far as hair goes, being in the sun can lighten it dramatically, especially if you dye it.  There are many brands that actually sell hair sunscreen that protect your locks from sun damage!  Just spray it on and you’re set for the day!

I hope these make you less worrisome when it comes to long days of water exposure.  Do you have any extra tips that work for you?  Let me know insiders! 🙂

How to Make Your Swimsuits Last A Lifetime

If you have a tropical trip planned for summer break/live by the ocean/swim a lot during the summer, your swimsuits take a beating! And as you know, swimsuits aren’t cheap. If you keep your swimsuits clean and maintained they last so much longer and you can wear your fav for years and years. To save some $$ and keep your suits usable for longer, follow these easy steps!

  1. Rinse right away: Right after you get out of the ocean or pool, rinse your suit right away using a garden hose or faucet. This prevents the chemicals and salt drying into the fabric!3fb932380bdde03cc5b11c8aca94b21f
  2. Don’t machine-wash: Wash your suits by hand to make sure they don’t lose their shape. Use cold water and gentle hand soap to prevent the colors from fading.
  3. Let them air dry: The clothes dryer will do a number on your suits. We have all taken our suits out and stared in dismay at the bra pads all crunched up in the suit’s top. When drying them, don’t dry them in sunlight to avoid fading.

To keep your fav suit in tip top shape, follow these easy steps!

Post-Pool Hair Care

In the summer time, do you automatically morph into a mermaid? Do you spend every waking moment in the pool? If you said yes to these two statements, then I need you to grab your listening ears! The pool/ocean can do a number on your hair if it is not properly treated. Your hair can become dried out, and even turn green if you don’t care for it properly! Here are some post-pool hair care tips to keep your mane nice and healthy.

  1. Swimmers shampoo: If you are a frequent swimmer, then this is definitely a good investment. This stuff takes all of the chlorine and chemicals out of your hair so that it doesn’t turn green and totally dry out.
  2. Deep conditioner: Use this stuff twice a week if you are an avid swimmer. After you shampoo and rinse your hair, put in some deep conditioner and let it sit around 5 minutes in your hair. While it is in your hair you can shave and exfoliate so you aren’t just standing in the shower doing nothing, bored as can be.
  3. Leave in conditioner: Also a must! After your shower, spray any type of leave-in conditioner in your hair, that way even when it dries it is still being moisturized.

Moisture is a must when it comes to my water-loving Insiders! Keep your hair healthy this summer with these tips.
