Essential oils can be used for almost anything and everything.  From relaxation to beauty regimes to medicine remedies, essential oils are great to have on hand!  So how exactly do you use these oils and what’s the safest way to do so?  Don’t worry Insiders, I’ve got you covered!

Relaxation:

The aroma of essential oils can put your body straight into relaxation mode.  Lavender is perfect for just that.  By burning lavender or sprinkling a few drops of oil on your pillow, you’ll find it easier to fall asleep at night.  It’s also a great stress reliever.  Another great way to use lavender is for a detox bath.  Add a cup of Epsom salt and a few drops of lavender oil to hot water for the perfect de-stressing bath!

Beauty:

Jasmine oil is the perfect all-natural perfume.  Rub a few drops on your wrist and neck for a long-lasting scent.  To thicken hair, add a few drops of rosemary oil to your shampoo bottle.  If you’ve got acne, mix together tea tree oil and honey for a homemade acne wash.  Use as you normally would any type of facial cleanser.  By mixing together coconut oil, lemon essential oil, and fresh strawberries you can create your own tooth whitener.  Just rub on your teeth for 2 minutes and rinse!

Medicine Remedies:

Feeling nauseous?  Rub some peppermint oil in your hands and inhale for a few seconds.  You can also add a few drops of peppermint oilChelsea Crockett- peppermint tea to your favorite tea to soothe your stomach.  If you’ve got a headache, apply lavender and peppermint oil to your temples for relief. Eucalyptus oil is known for helping sinuses and coughs!  Add a few drops to steaming hot water and inhale the steam for instant relief!  It’ll open up your passages right away!

Essential oils are wonderful for all of your needs.  Whether you’ve got an upset stomach or a beauty emergency, I’m sure there’s an essential oil out there to get the job done!

  3. Cypress oil is known to take care of dry, damaged hair.
  4. Rosemary oil has many of the same benefits as cypress oil, but is also great for lengthening hair!
  5. Lemon oil can help soak up excess oil on the scalp, giving your hair more body.
  6. Peppermint oil ensures that the scalp and hair are getting its proper nutrients. It provides a cooling effect to the roots.

All of these oils can be used once a week as a hot oil treatment or just add a few drops to your daily conditioner for an instant boost!

Natural Ways to Get Rid of Scarring

Acne, birth marks, and facial injuries can leave our skin looking a little rough.  Finally the zits have gone away, but the scars left are no fun either.  There…

Acne, birth marks, and facial injuries can leave our skin looking a little rough.  Finally the zits have gone away, but the scars left are no fun either.  There are many beauty products that claim to reduce scarring, but these products can be expensive and usually contain a lot of chemicals.  Luckily, there are so many natural ways to reduce scarring on your own for half the cost!  By using these products you can safely reduce scarring, while not hurting your skin.

Many scars are darker than our normal skin tone making it easy for them to be spotted.  Lemon juice, a natural bleach aid, can be rubbed on the scars to lighten the color.  Apply the lemon juice twice a day for 15 minutes before rinsing off with water.  Do this until you are happy with the results!  Ice and aloe are two natural ways to get rid of scars as well.  Although it can be cold and a little painful, rubbing ice on your scars for 15 minutes a day can help tighten the skin.  Apply ChelseaCrockett- icealoe gel to new scars to prevent permanent scarring.  You can even apply this to the scars after the ice has been removed.

If you’ve seen some of my latest videos, then you’ve probably heard me talk about tea tree oil.  It works like magic and can found at almost any drug store!  I’ve been applying it to my acne scars and have watched them disappear.  Remember, getting rid of scars does not happen overnight.  Be patient, apply the proper treatment, and watch the scars fade away.

Chelsea
