Christmas is creeping up on us faster than we know it… and I’m so excited!  Around Christmas time, my friends and I always do secret Santa gift exchanges.  It can be hard coming up with different things to get each year, so I wanted to tell you about the idea I’ll be using for my upcoming gift exchanges!

For me, I can never have too much makeup.  Who doesn’t love trying out new brands and products?  For your kit, you’ll need at least three different products, depending on how much you want to spend.  Chelsea Crockett - Makeup KitYou’ll at least need a lipstick, some type of skin product, and an eye product.  Since most people already have a certain foundation they like to use, pick out a highlighter, blush, etc.  As for eyes, purchase a mascara or eye shadow to add to their kit.

Now that you know what to put in your DIY makeup kit, here are a few of my favorites that are inexpensive yet good quality!  For a lipstick, try Tarte’s Color Splash Hydrating Lipstick.  There are 24 different shades to choose from!  As for a highlighter, you can buy Urban Decay’s Mini Naked Illuminated Powder for only $12 from Sephora.  Since the other two products are a little pricy, add your favorite drugstore mascara to complete the kit!

Are you going to try out this idea this year?  Let me know what products you fill your kit with! 🙂

Urban Decay’s Rehab Makeup Prep Collection has all your makeup prep needs fulfilled with just four products!  This collection targets your face, lips, skin, and pores specifically with each different gel or serum.  I wanted to tell you a little bit more about their Rehab Makeup and show you just how great each product is!

  • Hot Springs Hydrating Gel ($28). Chelsea Crockett - Rehab Makeup Prep I’ve always tried to find a hydrating gel or cream that gives my skin the nourishment it needs without making it look or feel oily.  They made this product ultralight so it won’t weigh down your skin while hydrating it at the same time!
  • Lip Love ($15).  This lip balm is an oil-based formula that leaves your lips smooth and soft.  It provides the perfect base for applying lipstick, lip gloss, or whatever lip product you’re rocking that day.
  • Pretty Gritty Skin Polish ($28).  Dry or peeling skin can oftentimes be the hardest surface to try and apply a long-lasting face of makeup to.  And since it’s summertime, I’m sure lots of us have some peeling skin here and there.  Use this polish to exfoliate your skin for a perfectly smooth face!
  • Pore Refining Peel ($26).  Are your pores clogged with oil, dirt, or other bacteria?  If your skin feels heavy and oily, try using this peel-off face mask to draw out any impurities that are harming your skin!

Have you ever tried out this collection?  If so, tell me which product is your favorite and why in the comments below!

If you get as excited for Urban Decay’s new products as I do, then you’ll be ecstatic to hear about their new up and coming collection for spring 2017!  I love waiting to hear about all the new collections coming out by my favorite cosmetics brands, especially Urban Decay.  Here’s all the insight to their upcoming collection so you can get pumped about it, too!

  • Skin Prep Spray ($31).  Chelsea Crockett - Urban Decay Setting SprayThere are two new prep sprays coming out this spring that’ll properly make your skin makeup-ready.  There’s the B6 Vitamin Infused Complexion Prep Spray and the Quick Fix Hydra-Charged Complexion Prep Priming Spray.  Each spray leaves your skin with a fresh finish ready to apply your makeup!
  • Primer ($34).  Urban Decay is releasing five new complexion primers that you can choose from!  De-Slick, Optical Illusion, Defense, Self-Adjusting, and Bright & Tight are the names of each primer that tackle different purposes and skin types.  I’m most excited to try out the Optical Illusion Complexion Primer.  It finishes with an airbrush effect that makes your skin look flawless!
  • Makeup Setting Spray ($31).  As for the setting spray, there are three different products to cater to your skin type.  There’s the All Nighter, De-Slick, and Chill makeup setting spray.  The All Nighter spray keeps your makeup on for up to 16 hours straight!  If your skin type is extra oily, the De-Slick setting spray dries matte leaving your skin without any excess shine.  The third setting spray called Chill cools the surface of your face so your makeup doesn’t melt off in the heat!

Which product are you most excited to try from their upcoming launch?  Let me know below!

Top 3 Eyeshadow Palettes

As you all know, I’m a makeup fanatic. I love playing around with different products to see what looks best on me. My favorite part about putting on makeup is doing my eyes. There are so many ways to switch up your look just based off your eyeshadow, eyeliner, etc. Here are three of my favorite palettes that I use every day!

My number one go-to brand of palettes is Urban Decay. Their Naked Palettes are amazing and filled with a variety of different shades. As of now, they’ve came out with four different palettes. The fourth one, and most recent, is called the Naked Smoky Palette. Chelsea Crockett - Tarte PaletteIt’s probably my favorite out of the four! It has tons of different dark and light complimentary shades that create the perfect smoky eye in a variety of different combinations.

Another brand of palettes I’ve recently fallen in love with are the Tarte palettes. My favorite one is the product on the right. It’s called the Tartelette in Bloom Clay Palette. All of the nudes and browns are perfect for a natural summer look! The palette is $45 which may seem expensive at first, but it’s worth it!

Two Faced is another good brand to check out! Their Chocolate Bar Eye Shadow Collection not only has a great variety of colors but even smells like chocolate… WHAT? As soon as you open it, you’ll smell the sweet chocolatey aroma! Each eyeshadow is even made with cocoa powder. How cool is that?

Let me know which is your favorite!

Holiday Makeup: Ring in the New Year!

New Year’s Eve is one of my favorite nights. It’s a fresh start into a new year filled with many exciting things to come! Whether you’re going to a New Year’s bash or to a nice dinner with your crush, you’ll need glamorous makeup to start off 2015 the right way! Here are a few of my favorite makeup looks that you can try too!

Chelsea Crockett - Holiday MakeupIf you’re one to rock the bold makeup (colorful eye shadows, bright lips), then try pulling off a blue eye shadow. Try using a light blue, shimmer shadow and applying it to your lids. Then, so you don’t go overboard with the blue, apply a white shimmer to your crease. Finish your eyes off with eyeliner and mascara. A nude lip stick and clear gloss will seal your look (or even a red lipstick like Taylor did on the left!).

Like I said before, you have to be the right person to pull off a certain look. If you’ve seen Kylie Jenner’s matte plum lips, you know how gorgeous they look! If you want a darker lip color, try a dark purple. It’s a bold statement but super trendy! Make sure you go light on the eye shadow and blush. You don’t want too much color. Finish it off with a winged liner and a boosting mascara.

A little shimmer and glitter can never hurt on New Year’s Eve! Urban Decay has a product called Moondust in seven different shades. It’s the perfect way to make your eyes pop! (And it looks great with a sparkly dress!)

I hope you all have a happy new year! – Chels
