If you’re like me, then you love finding beautiful places to explore, especially when you didn’t even know they existed!  I always scroll through Tumblr and Instagram and find the most beautiful spots that I can add to my bucket list.  Here are five that you should add to your own “must-see” list!

  • Garden of the Gods – Colorado Springs, Colorado.  If you’ve never been, this place is amazing!  It’s filled with huge rocks and trees surrounded by the beautiful Rocky Mountains.  If you want a good photo op, then this is the spot for you!
  • Tamanawas Falls – Mt. Hood National Forest, Oregon.  If you want to submerge yourself in nature, visit this jaw-dropping waterfall.  It’s a big of a trek to get there, but it’s so worth it!Chelsea Crockett - Fort Jefferson
  • Fugitive Beach – Rolla, Missouri.  This place isn’t the most well-known in the country, but where I’m from, it’s a go-to hotspot!  People around the St. Louis area love to go there to hang with friends and even cliff jump!
  • Blue Lakes – San Juan Mountain, Colorado.  You’d never think that this blue of water actually exists in Colorado, but you’d be surprised at how vibrant the water is!  It’s so pretty and the mountains are an added perk.
  • Fort Jefferson – Key West, Florida.  Fort Jefferson is a historic landmark that’s been around for decades and is now a beautiful tourist destination!  Look at the picture to the right to see for yourself!

Spring break is often the time for college kids to go on a trip with their friends or get some time away from school to relax and spend time with family.  If you’re staying home or at school for spring break, you don’t have to miss out on all the fun!  Here are five ideas for a spring break “staycation!”

  • Take a day to binge watch that Netflix series you’ve been wanting to watch.  Chelsea Crockett - Gossip GirlClear your schedule for the day, make some snacks, lay in bed, and simply relax!
  • Take a day trip to a good hiking spot or a big city.  This is an inexpensive way to get a mini vacation in your break without having to go very far!  Most of the time you can discover hidden spots that make for the best adventures.
  • Set apart a day on the weekend where you and the rest of your family are free.  Then, plan out a whole day to spend time with each other and do fun things around your city!
  • Since you’re saving money by not going on any spring break festivities, treat yourself to a shopping spree!  I don’t mean you have to drain your bank account, but you can treat yourself by splurging a little at the mall.
  • Catch up with your high school friends.  If you live away at college, you might not get the chance to see old friends as much.  Send out a group text and plan a fun day for the crew!

What other ideas do you have to add to the list?  Let me know in the comment section below! 🙂

If you’re like my family, one of the main things we do during the summer is travel, travel, travel!  Some days spent flying from coast to coast or riding the train for several hours can be exhausting… But that doesn’t mean I don’t like to dress in a nice outfit!  Although some of us girls want to be comfy during our travels, we can still find an outfit that provides both style and comfort!

T-shirt dresses have been in style for a while now and I don’t think they’re going anywhere!  Chelsea Crockett - T Shirt DressYou can usually find them for a cheap price at almost any store including Forever 21, Target, etc.  They’re super easy to throw on with a cute pair of sandals or sneakers, whatever your style may be!  If you’re going for more of a girly look, pair your dress with sandals, simple jewelry, and a fedora!

If you want to go a little more casual, you can wear comfy leggings with a simple flowy shirt. Throw on a cute, boho headband and a pair of converse! Jewelry always makes an outfit better, so don’t be afraid to accessorize (I know I’m not!).

Rompers are always on the top of my list for a go-to outfit. If you find a casual one, it can surprisingly be really comfortable (and don’t forget stylish!). They’re easy to throw on like a dress as well! Let me know below in the comments what your favorite travel outfit is!

One of the most anticipated times of the seasons changing is for spring break to finally roll around. Most of us will be spending our days off making Netflix our best friend or catching up on some ZZZ’s. Others will be visiting relatives or traveling simply for the fun of it! Whenever I travel, I like to keep a list of must-haves and must-do’s before my trip. Here are some travel tips if you feel yourself getting stressed before your much needed vacay!

  • First off, I’m all about capturing the moment wherever I go. Most of the time, I just snap pics with my phone. But if I want to get a little fancy, I have to remember to bring a camera and all of its necessities! Remember to pack its charger (or batteries), and a clean memory card that will hold all of your photos.
  • Before I pack my suitcase, I always look up the weather in my destination. Make sure you’re prepared if you need a coat, swimsuit, shorts, etc.Chelsea Crockett - Packing
  • I always try to travel as light as possible, but being a girl that can’t always be the case. Before I pack my clothes into my suitcase, I lay out everything I’m taking. If I have way too much (oops!), I put away the shirts or pants I definitely don’t need until I can finally fit everything!
  • Sometimes when travelling over break you might miss a couple days of school, more or less. Before you take off, try to get all of your homework done and over with. No one likes to stress about homework when you could be relaxing on the beach (or wherever you’re headed)!

Enjoy these tips and enjoy your trip :)! – Chels

IT’S FINALLY HERE! Through all the late night studying, homework confusion, school lunches, etc., we can finally say it’s over (at least for the next few months!). Every summer, I try to make it better than the last. There are some tips and advice I’m going to consider going into these next few wonderful months, so I thought I’d share!

  • Don’t be afraid to say “yes” to something new. If something’s a little out of your comfort zone, such as trying a new food or riding that roller coaster you’ve always been too afraid of, DO IT!Chelsea Crockett - Cliff Jumping
  • Always spend your summer with those you love most such as your closest friends and family. Getting a group of my best friends together for a day at the zoo or a trip to the water park is always a good time :).
  • Don’t spend your summer sitting indoors watching a movie like you can do any other day of the year! Make your summer adventurous! Go hiking, go swimming, go on a late night ice cream run with your crush… Don’t be boring, it’s summer!

What mottos do you have jumping into summer this year? Lemme know insiders!

Travel season is here!  It’s time to pack your bags and hit the road… or airport!  There are places all over the U.S. that any of you would enjoy no matter what type of traveler you are.  Whether you like the beach, the city, or the mountains, here are my three top travel spots that are suitable for each kind of traveler!

For the paradise lovers and beach goers, Hawaii is the place for you!  It’s definitely the closest place that lets you feel like you are right in the Caribbean.  The water is so blue and clear, it’s beautiful!  One of the prettiest islands that is a must-see is Maui.  If your family is thinking of places to go this summer, don’t hesitate to suggest it.Chelsea Crockett- Hawaii

For the hikers and nature-lovers, Colorado is the place for you.  During the summer, the mountains are breathtaking.  You can hike, bike ride, paddleboard, horseback ride, and lots of other cool activities.  It’s definitely one of the most active states you’ll ever visit :).  Breckenridge and Colorado Springs are two popular cities there.  Both are lots of fun and absolutely gorgeous!

Lastly, for those of you who love big cities… New York, New York, New York!  I just got back from a trip there and I 100% fell in love!  There is never a dull moment in NYC.  There is always something to do no matter what the time or weather is.  One of the best parts of the city is the endless strips of stores and shops!  I really did shop till I dropped.

So whether you have saved up for a graduation trip, are taking a family vacay, or plan to put it on your bucket list, these places should be at the top of your consideration!

Ah vacation!  It’s the perfect time to relax, eat large amounts of food, lie in the sun for hours, and become the definition of a “beach bum”.  Even though you’re taking a break from real life, this doesn’t mean you should take a break from your mind and body.  Of course, this is all part of the fun, but it’s important to get up and moving during your vacation!  Check out a few simple ways to exercise while on vacation!Chelsea Crockett- hiking

  • Jog or walk the beach in the morning! The beautiful scenery will keep you wanting more, while each step in the sand works your calf muscles. Plus, if you get sweaty just jump into the water!
  • If you’re near the mountains, go for a hike or a long bike ride!
  • Try picking up a new sport like surfing, paddle boarding, or kayaking.
  • Who said you shouldn’t exercise your mind on vacation?! Try putting your phone away and reading a book or playing a game of Sudoku.
  • Find the nearest water park or amusement park! You won’t even realize how much you’re walking!
  • Hit your hotel or resort gym. Try out all of their fancy workout equipment!

Next time you take a vacation, challenge yourself to be as active as possible.  You’ll come back from vacation feeling refreshed!

Cold Weather Vacation Packing Guide!

Hello Lovelies,

Christmas break is one of the most popular times for vacation.  While many families try to beat the winter cold by hitting the beach, other families enjoy snow skiing or may be visiting families up north.  So how do you pack for a cold winter vacation?  Check out my perfect packing guide.

Packing for a winter vacation can be tough.  Fitting your boots, cold weather outerwear, and clothes in one suitcase can be tricky.  So how can you narrow it down?  Pack the basics!  Black, brown, grey, and white are the first colors you should pack.  One pair of black and brown boots will last you the entire vacation.  They can be worn with any outfit!  When packing coats, think warmth and style.  Bring along you’re warmest coat and your favorite stylish coat, like a pea coat, for nights out.  You never know how cold it’s going to be!  Also, don’t forget your gloves and leg warmers!  A super cute trend this winter is legChelsea Crockett- socks and boots warmers or tall socks sticking out of the top of your boots.  Not only does it add an extra element to your outfit, but it’ll keep your legs warmer.

If you are going on a vacation this Christmas break, have a fabulous time!  Have fun packing!

Love,

            Chelsea
