  3. Sweet and subtle: If you go for the more understated look, just paint a simple coat of glitter polish over your nails! It will give you a nice subtle sparkle, and is a totally simple way to add a little extra to your V-Day ensemble.

The way to a boy’s heart is through food. Okay, the way to MY heart is through food, who am I kidding. If you are looking for a totally adorable yet delicious homemade Valentine’s Day gift for the people you love, make them these sweet Oreo heart truffles!

Ingredients:Oreo-Truffles-Valentines-Hearts-2

  • 24 Oreos, finely crushed
  • 5 oz. softened cream cheese
  • 12-14 oz. white chocolate or vanilla almond bark
  • Heart shaped sprinkles (optional but highly recommended ;))

Line a cookie tray with baking paper. Crush the Oreos until they are fine crumbs and mix them in with the softened cream cheese. Do this with your hands or the back of a spoon. When it is all well combined transfer it to the baking paper and spread it in an even layer, about ½ inch thick. Put the cookie sheet in the freezer for 45 minutes or more and then use a heart shaped cookie cutter, then freeze them for about 25 minutes. Line another baking sheet with baking paper, then place the hearts from the freezer and dip them in the white chocolate using a fork. Tap off the extra chocolate, then lay them on the baking tray and sprinkle them with the sprinkles. Work in small batches so the hearts don’t thaw! Store these in the fridge until you give them away! That is, if you don’t eat them all yourself. 😉

XOXO, Chels

It is almost Valentine’s Day (yay!), and I am sure those of you who have honeys are trying to think of date ideas. You could do the normal Valentine’s Day routine of dinner and a movie, OR you could have a super fun, cute date that you will never forget! Here are 3 adorable date ideas for this Valentine’s Day.

  1. Indoor picnic: where I live, it is hardly picnic weather. It is too cold for that! As a fun alternative, have an inside picnic! Make PB&J sandwiches or finger foods, lay out a blanket, and have a fun little picnic in the living room.vday 7
  2. Waffle bar: have a waffle bar dinner! Lay out a bunch of waffle toppings like fresh fruit, whipped cream, chocolate chips, syrup, and jelly! Make waffles together and then top them with all of your favorites.
  3. Ice skate date: the best part about ice skating is getting to hold hands with your honey! Bundle up and head to the skating rink for a fun night of slipping, falling, and laughing at and with one another!

Happy Valentine’s Day to you and your honey!

Valentines Day is just around the corner, and if you have a boo thang, it is time to start thinking about what to do for them! A DIY gift means so much more than a store bought one, and Valentines Day is the day to show your guy how much you care, so here are 3 DIY gift ideas that he is sure to love!vday

  1. “You Float my Boat” basket: Make him a basket with everything he needs to make a root beer float, from the soda to the ice cream and even fun mugs or straws! This gift is great because he will most likely share a float or two with you! 😉
  2. A memory jar: Take some time to think about all of the fun memories you have made together. This one may be for couples that have been together for a while! Write all the memories on pieces of paper, and fill a jar with the memories. After you give him the jar, sit and read the memories together! You will have so much fun reminicing about all of the fun times you have had.
  3. A bag filled with their favorite things: Fill a paper gift bag with a few of his favorite things, such as his favorite candy, a shirt from his favorite sports team, a picture of you, his favorite snacks, stuff like that! All of the items are things he loves, and he will feel so special that you know him well enough to put all of his favorite things into a gift! Plus, this is an easy gift for couples who are both new couples and couples who have been together a while!

What are YOU thinking about getting your guy this Valentines Day?

Let’s face it. As high school students, we aren’t exactly made of money. So, when it comes to dates, we have to be a little stingy. But just because we aren’t rolling in the dough doesn’t mean we can’t have super awesome, super romantic dates! Here are a few awesomely affordable date ideas for you and your honey this Valentine’s Day.teen-dating-image-1

  1. Cook dinner together: Going out to dinner can get pricy, so why not cook your very own feast! You two would have so much fun in the kitchen laughing and joking around, plus you can enjoy the fruits of your labor together!

You know what makes any Valentine’s Day outfit so much cuter? An adorable mani. I feel so much more “put together” when my nails are done. Here are a few Valentine’s Day DIY manis that are sure to make any Vday ensemble pop!

  1. “Heart tipped”: In this mani all you need is red and clear nail polish. Paint two ovals in the shape of a heart on the tips of your nails for a unique mani that everyone will love!149367e278c445fcc53f023139e393af
  2. Pretty in pink: If you are a lover of pink and everything girly, then just paint all of your nails with a soft pink and then paint pink glitter on one nail for a little pazazz. Super simple, yet super adorable!
  3. Tiny hearts: If you are a subtle lovin girl, then paint all of your nails red except for your ring finger nail, which you will paint white. Then, on the finger with the white, paint a small red heart. This manicure is so simple, yet so cute!

So remember, when you are in “Valentine’s Day prep” mode, don’t forget to do your nails up real nice!

So many of my girlfriends are stressing because Valentine’s Day is Friday and they have NO IDEA what to get their boyfriends! So that got me thinking, what in the world do you get a guy for Valentine’s Day?! I did my research. It is so hard to know what to get a guy! Here are 3 ideas on what to get your dude for Valentine’s Day:

1. The first suggestion I have is for new couples that have just started dating. A really safe gift for a guy is candy. You cannot go wrong! Go to Walmart and buy a bunch of different kinds of candy, put it in a box or a gift bag,

and wrap it up. He will love it and his taste buds will too! Candy isn’t an awkward gift and it isn’t super romantic so it is perfect for new couples!

2. Guys love hats. Especially athletic guys! Get your beau a hat with his favorite sports team’s logo on it, or get him a hat in his favorite color. He will love it and you will love seeing him wear it because YOU picked it out! Hats are a safe gift for both new couples and couples that have been dating for a while.

3. This next gift is for couples that have been dating for a little while (a few months or longer). Buy him a cool pair of headphones and make him a CD of all of his/your favorite songs. Put songs on it that remind you of him, put the song that you guys say is “your song” on it, any song that you think he will like and that will remind him of you! I am sure that he will love it!

Good luck gift hunting, ladies! Hopefully these tips took some of the pressure of Valentine’s Day shopping off of you!

Valentine’s Day Cupcakes

Hi Ladies,

Ahhhh Valentine’s Day, the most romantic day of the year, is right around the corner.  It’s a wonderful time to spend with the person you love or with your best girlfriends!  Even if you don’t have a special someone, you can still make Valentine’s Day an exciting holiday.  One of my favorite treats is cupcakes.  They’re an easy gift to give someone, to share at your “No Boys Allowed” party, or to keep all to yourself.  Check out how to make the cutest and sweetest Valentine’s Day cupcakes around!

Start by buying your favorite flavor of cupcake mix from the store and all of the necessary ingredients (usually listed on the back of the box).  I prefer red velvet since it is Valentine’s Day!  Also, don’t forget to grab white icing as well as some red food coloring.  Now you’re reading to start cooking!  Once the cupcakes are done baking, place them in the refrigerator, so they can cool faster, and start making the icing.  If you made red velvet cupcakes, then add just a few drops of red food coloring to the jar so the icing turns pink!  If you used any other flavor of cake mix, then add extra drops to make the icing red and mix it up.Chelsea Crockett- Valentine's Day Heart Cupcakes

Next, cut the top off of each cupcake so it is flat on the top.  Make sure you save the top of each cupcake!  Using a heart shaped cookie cutter and the top of each cupcake, cut out a heart in the middle of each piece.  Now, ice each cupcake and lay the top, with the heart, back on top of each cupcake. This way, the heart will be pink or red!  Finish off your cupcake by sprinkling a little powdered sugar on the top and you’re good to go!  I hope you enjoy these cupcakes as much as I did!

Happy Valentine’s Day XOXO,

            Chelsea

Hello Ladies!

Valentine’s Day is one of those special days that it’s totally acceptable to dress up and go all out with your hair and makeup.  So what colors are acceptable for the most romantic day of the year?  Well, I’m here to fill you in on my favorite makeup look for Valentine’s Day.  Check it out!

Begin your look by applying your foundation as you normally would and don’t forget rosy cheeks.  Now it’s time to make your eyes look big and bright!  Try using a jumbo eye pencil, my favorite is light lavender by NYX, and fill in your entire lid.  This will act as a base for your eye shadow.  Next, add a shimmery white powder to the top of your lids and the inner corner of eachChelsea Crockett- lips eye.  This will make your eyes appear whiter!  One of my favorite things to do is to use my blush as a light pink eye shadow.  Using an eye shadow brush, apply the blush to the outer part of your eye lids and extending the color out.  Last, apply mascara and eye liner to finish your eyes.  I think a winged eye is perfect for Valentine’s Day!

Now for my favorite part…lips!  Depending on your outfit, go for a bold pink or red lip.  It’s the perfect day to put away your lip gloss and grab a tube of lip stick instead!  Now you’re ready for the perfect Valentine’s night!

XOXO,

            Chelsea
