I have started to realize that as grow up, I have less and less time. Time just seems to run away and I never have enough of it! This includes time to get ready. Time is precious, so here are a few ways to make your “getting ready” routine faster to make you feel like you have more time to do things you need/want to do.

  1. Kick winged eyeliner to the curb: Ain’t nobody got time for that. Winged liner is awesome, but it is also time 80437916c20dab419c33116021812d9aconsuming. Applying it is an art, and if you mess it up you can be stuck trying to re-do it and make yourself feel stressed and late. Either find an easy way of doing it, or opt for a simpler eyeliner routine.
  2. Prep your food: Yes, this is part of getting ready! If you are in college and on time and money budgets, then prep your lunch the night before. This way you don’t have to worry about putting together snacks and your lunch in the morning when you are trying to get out the door.
  3. Prep your clothes: This is actually one of my favorite things in my “prep” routine. I love picking out my outfits and accessories the night before because it gives me something to look forward to in the morning! Plus, when I wake up I don’t have to worry about what looks good with what, because I will have already figured it out.
  4. Master the 5-minute makeup routine: Look up “5 minute makeup routine” on YouTube to find a routine that works for you! You will be mastering your own 5-minute routine in no time!

I think I will be rocking the whole “college” thing with these “getting ready quick” hacks!

We all know the struggle of trying to achieve the perfect winged liner. Honestly, it could take me hours to get those wings perfectly symmetrical. As with everything in life, practice makes perfect, so instead of “winging it” next time you try and swoop your liner, follow these helpful guidelines!

  1. Use a straight edge: Save yourself a ton of trouble by using a business card or piece of scotch tape as a straight edge. eyeliner3Line the edge up to the angle you want the wing to be. Trace along the edge with your liner, and bam, a straight line every time!
  2. Find the right kind: In order to get the perfect winged look, you need to find the liner that works best for you. Once you find your favorite liner, making the perfect wing is that much easier.
  3. Keep it steady: Having a steady hand is crucial when dealing with liquid liner. The easiest way to anchor your hand is to use your ring finger or pinky and rest the tip on your cheek bone while your fingers hold the liner.
  4. Trace, then line: The easiest way to map out your wing is to use your solid eyeliner pen to trace your lines, and then go over your lines with the liquid liner.

Now you are ready to kick your winged eyeliner game up a notch!

Hi Girls,

Have you ever looked through magazines or watched a movie from the 60’s or 70’s and thought “Hmmmm I wear that now?”  Well, that’s because trends are ever-changing.  Clothes and hairstyles that your mom or grandma used to wear are making a comeback!  Crazy, right?  So how do you pull of these dated styles in the new millennium?  Here are a few tricks and tips to rock that old school style.Chelsea Crockett- winged eyeliner

Winged eyeliner has been one of the biggest makeup staples throughout every generation.  It’s such a classic look, but is often applied wrong.  Start by using liquid eyeliner.  Apply your top eyeliner as you normally would, a thin straight line.  At the end of your eye, go over the line multiple times with the liner.  Keep doing this until you have achieved the thickness that you like.  Don’t go overboard though!  Another makeup trend making its way back is red lipstick.  Celebs like Taylor Swift have made red lipstick the new “it” look.  Be daring a pair it with your normal everyday outfit.  This bold color takes any look to the next level.  Try a darker red for the winter and a lighter or orange red for the warmer months.  It’s such a classic!

Believe it or not, peplums and high-waisted shorts/pants have made the ultimate comeback.  Ask your mom, I bet she wore them in the 80’s!  They are two of today’s biggest trends.  Wear your peplum with a pair of skinny’s or a pencil skirt.  The ruffle adds a girly touch to almost anything!  Try out your high-waisted shorts with a crop top or tucked in concert tee.  You’ll really be channeling the 80’s!  Take a look back at old pictures, magazines, and movies.  You may pick up on an old style trend that you can start back up again.  Be a trend setter!

Spring is just around the corner; and thanks to the runways of New York and London Fashion Week, we’ve got a heads up on all the fabulous trends to keep our eye on this spring.  From eyes to lips to skin, I’ve got all the details on how you can be makeup forward this spring season!

This spring, it’s all about the eyes!  Try a soft berry (purple/pink) lip with light pink eye shadow and bold eyeliner with dark lashes.  The contrast of colors will really show off the berry tones!  If you want to go for a retro look, the cat eye has made its comeback!  Start by using a liquid liner making the line thicker as you reach the outer corner.  Another option with eye liner is to use white liner.  For brighter eyes, line your top lid with white liner and skip out on bottom liner.  It’s the perfect way to transition into spring.Chelsea Crockett- white eyeliner

Bronzed glowing skin is a must this spring, but this does not mean to hop in a tanning bed!  Instead, opt for a shimmering bronzer and light highlighter to bring out your bone structure.  Lightly brush on bronzer over your foundation and down your neck.  Next, apply a creamy stick highlighter to your cheek bones, eyebrow bones, and above your lip to make every feature pop!  Also, be sure to use moisturizer.  Hydrated skin is glowing skin!

Staying on point with trends each season is very important!  Now you can be on top on things as soon as spring strikes!  Have fun with your beauty routine!

Happy spring,

Hello Ladies!

Valentine’s Day is one of those special days that it’s totally acceptable to dress up and go all out with your hair and makeup.  So what colors are acceptable for the most romantic day of the year?  Well, I’m here to fill you in on my favorite makeup look for Valentine’s Day.  Check it out!

Begin your look by applying your foundation as you normally would and don’t forget rosy cheeks.  Now it’s time to make your eyes look big and bright!  Try using a jumbo eye pencil, my favorite is light lavender by NYX, and fill in your entire lid.  This will act as a base for your eye shadow.  Next, add a shimmery white powder to the top of your lids and the inner corner of eachChelsea Crockett- lips eye.  This will make your eyes appear whiter!  One of my favorite things to do is to use my blush as a light pink eye shadow.  Using an eye shadow brush, apply the blush to the outer part of your eye lids and extending the color out.  Last, apply mascara and eye liner to finish your eyes.  I think a winged eye is perfect for Valentine’s Day!

Now for my favorite part…lips!  Depending on your outfit, go for a bold pink or red lip.  It’s the perfect day to put away your lip gloss and grab a tube of lip stick instead!  Now you’re ready for the perfect Valentine’s night!

XOXO,

            Chelsea
