In preparation for going back to college, I have been looking up encouraging Bible verses to prepare both my heart and my mind for the big life change. There are a lot of things I am nervous about, from making friends to succeeding in my classes. One verse that has calmed my anxious heart is Psalm 139:5, which says “You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head.”

To me, this verse says that there is no need to worry about the future. God has gone before you and prepared the way for you. He already knows your future and what it holds, so there is no reason for YOU to worry about it. He has looked into the future and has seen the trials you will have, and he is preparing you for them right now. He places his hand of blessing on your head, which is a comfort to know. He has blessed you greatly and will continue to do so! Not only does God go before you, but He also follows you wherever you go. You are not alone, He is with you! When you feel nervous or anxious, just remember that whatever you are going through is in God’s plan.

God has blessed you in so many ways! Have comfort in knowing that he has gone before you and prepared a way for you!

We all have our bad habits: gum chomping, nail biting, constantly fidgeting around, you name it!  There are hundreds and hundreds of bad habits that we perform each and every day; but did you know that some of these habits can actually be bad for your health?!  Keep on reading to see if you have a bad habit and how to stop it!

Food is one of my favorite things in the whole world.  I mean who doesn’t love a good snack?!  Unfortunately, many of us tend to snack when we are bored or when we aren’t even hungry!  Eventually, these snacks add up and can cause unexpected weight gain.  Also, if you are constantly snacking on junk food it can lead to diseases such as heart disease and diabetes.  Instead, try snacking on fruits or vegetables.  Make yourself perfectly portioned meals and limit yourself to one or two snacks a day!

Shopping is a girl’s best friend and worst-enemy.  Spending hours in the mall can run your wallet dry!  Most of the time, we end of buying clothing items that we don’t need or will only wear once.  Next time you go to the mall, bring a limited amount of cash; that way you won’t spend your life’s savings.  Also, before purchasing an item, try envisioning multiple places you could wear it.  If you can only think of a couple, then put it back on the shelf. Chelsea Crockett- shopping habit

A bad habit that I am guilty of is over-thinking and stressing about everything!  When life throws a million things at you it’s hard not to worry.  These stresses can start to take over your life and daily thoughts.  It’s horrible!  Instead, try to focus on the positive and make a list of everything you’re thankful for.  In no time, you’ll realize that most of the stuff you are worried about is small.

Everyone has a bad habit or two.  Once you learn how to get rid of them, life gets a little easier!

School, drama, and life in general can be stressful at times.  Unfortunately, this stress isn’t just giving you a headache; it may be giving you bad skin!  Different types of stress affect your skin differently.  By examining your skin, you may be able to determine what type of stress you’re suffering from and how you can help it!

Worrying and anxiety are the two biggest types of stress.  Worrying causes inflammation, dark under eye circles, dryness, and increased sensitivity.  The more sensitive your skin is, the more prone you are to breakouts and the dreaded zits.  Anxiety can cause a decrease in health.  When someone is anxious, they tend to put less of an emphasis on caring for their skin and body.  Exercising becomes less and less, grabbing fast food is the easier option, and going to sleep without taking your makeup off becomes more and more frequent.  All of these factors can cause weight gain, poor skin, and a lack of nutrition.  The easiest and most effective ways to stop stress is to relax!!  Set time aside for yourself, hangout with your friends, watch a funny movie, or go for a run.  Also, make sure to get plenty of sleep!  By doing Chelsea Crockett- friendsone of these activities once a day, your stress levels will reduce dramatically.

Stress can take such a toll of your body.  Other than the occasional tears, many do not realize the underlying effects stress takes on your body.  Take care of yourself and don’t let stress control your life!

Love,

Chelsea
