I had a friend recently ask me what my biggest struggle was lately, and I knew what it was right away. It was finding my purpose and feeling as though I really HAD a purpose. I think we can get so caught up in life and the day-to-day that when we stop and think about it, we can be overwhelmed with the question of “what is my purpose?”
What am I supposed to do with my life? The answer is typically pretty hazy. We want to know what our purpose is so that we can start fulfilling it, right? But when we feel purpose-less, it can be a pretty low feeling. I need a purpose to feel needed! I need a purpose to feel important! I need a purpose to feel like I am actually making a difference and doing something for this world! When you fell like you have no idea what your purpose is on this planet, read Psalm 138:8 which says “The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me.” Hear that? God’s got this! He knows exactly what your purpose is, and you can rest assured that He will reveal it to you in His time. All we have to be is patient. That is the hardest part, I know!
Take comfort in knowing that God knows your purpose and will reveal it to you when He knows you are ready. Until then, continue seeking God and praying for Him to show you what He wants for your life, and I will be right there alongside you.
